Final day in Slovenia for the 44Cup in the Bay of Piran. Local boat, Team CEEREF, took the overall honours with a consistent performance over the last three races with a 2nd, 1st and 3rd. Skippered by Igor Lah (SLO) and tactics called by Adrian Stead (GBR).
Portoroz gave the fleet perfect conditions with breeze up to 25 knots and the RC44 were smoking.. Three different winners with three races - Peninsula Racing (GBR 1), Team Aqua (GBR 2041) and Team Nika (RUS 10) took the bullets.
Day Two and it was the turn of Team Aqua to turn the tables on local boats with Chris Bake (NZL) and his team taking all three races. That's the competitiveness of the one-class design yacht fleet - top class racing and rare for one boat to dominate.
