A new international team racing event was hosted by West Kirby Sailing Club prior to the iconic Wilson Trophy. Created by Bill Cross and Jamie Marston to encourage more nations to attend four days of 'chess on the water' and enjoy the infamous Wirral hospitality - inaugural winners were Birdham Bandits (GBR) from Itchenor Sailing Club.
