Vendée Globe

3 Seasons

The Vendée Globe is regarded as the greatest sailing race round the world - solo, non-stop and without assistance.

24 296 miles is the circumference of the Earth and the distance that was accomplished in 74 days and 3 hours during the last Vendée Globe in 2017. In reality, during the previous eight editions of the Vendée Globe, many competitors sometimes have sailed over 28 000 miles.

Commonly known as the Everest of the Seas by the public, the eight editions have enabled 167 competitors to take the start of this extraordinary race. Only 89 of them managed to cross the finish line – just over 50%. This figure alone shows the extreme difficulty of this global event in which solo racers are confronted to freezing cold, gigantic waves and heavy skies which sweep the Great South!

The Vendée Globe is first and foremost a journey beyond the seas and mental strength…
