The 15th Transat Jacques Vabre get ready to set sail - the 2021 edition is treating the competitors in the Ultime category to a completely unprecedented course. Race Management, orchestrated by Francis Le Goff, has devised a route spanning 7,500 nautical miles, which equates to nearly 15,000 kilometres and will take the five giants of the sea down into the South Atlantic and the latitudes of Rio de Janeiro before hooking back up to the northern hemisphere, bound for Martinique for the first time in the race’s history. As the clock ticks down to start day, the Gitana Team pick out the five key points of the course that Franck Cammas and Charles Caudrelier will have to negotiate.
