Day One of the 2016 IOCA UK Winter Championships saw almost 160 sailors take to the water at Datchet Water Sailing Club in light shifty conditions. The main fleet was split into two starts for each race. Racing was tight throughout the day with William Pank taking the lead with 2 bullets and a discard. With the top 4 sailors on 2, 3, 4 & 5 points anyone could take the title. The regatta fleet had four races, with a short break ashore after Race 2. Sam Brown dominated here counting two bullets and a second. Not bad for one of the youngest sailors in the fleet.
