The fleet started on Sunday with the usual fanfare and huge local support - twenty five skippers reached the start line but one turned back. Louis Burton set the pace and the foilers went hunting the 30knt boat speed but it's all to play for over the next 48 hours jockeying for position to catch ...

After the adrenalin pumping start for the IMOCA 60 fleet, it is now all slow in search of the breeze to take them north to Iceland. Some may have gone too early and others kept going to the west for the anticipated big breeze and plenty of flying time! Footage ©Vendée Arctic

Day Four of the Vendée Arctic and it's the tale of the Haves and Have Nots - wind! The leaders have grasped onto the breeze but the rest of the fleet are having a party in the Atlantic or have decided north of Ireland has better prospects! Footage ©Vendée Arctic

It's sight seeing time for the IMOCA 60s - race management have 'neutralised' the 3,500 mile arctic competition.
